# Notes

> Clinical notes tied to clients and sessions, faster and more secure than ever.

Gone now are the days of scattered Google documents with passwords you might forget, or a scrappy paper notebook. Bloom gives you your own note storage, tied to clients and sessions, designed to make keeping clinical notes faster and more secure than ever.

## Notes

Next to the calendar, the notes section makes up the core offering of Bloom. Notes are accessible from a few locations, making them quick and painless to access. To get started, notes have their own tab on the side navigation bar. To create a note here, click **New Note**.

Bloom comes integrated with your very own text editor, without needing to redirect you to any external document editor. On adding notes, you'll be asked to tie the blank notes to a client. If they've had a recent session where you didn't take notes during, you'll be given the opportunity to tie the notes to that session too, giving you the chance to keep everything up to date without having to worry about it being done mid-session.

<Tip>
  Some prefer to do a smaller write-up post-session rather than frantically note-taking during; giving you the option allows you to be flexible around your clients.

In the notes tab, notes can be searched for in a variety of ways:

* **Title**
* **Client**
* **Date**

Meaning there's no need to dig around for your client notes, simply search and go.

### Formatting

Session notes allow for a variety of formatting options, should you require them. The following features are available:

* Bold
* Italic
* Headings
* Bullet points or numbers
* Quotes
* Dividers

Each can be used to customise the notes to your preference.

## Session notes

Notes can be created directly from the calendar itself, saving you a trip away to another screen. Creating client notes from here automatically ties them to that session, so you're automatically organised.

To create these notes, on the calendar, click your appointment and use the **Add note** button, and the same text editor will be created.

### Pinning

Notes that are top priority or that you need to revisit can be pinned to the top. To do this, visit the client page and select their notes. Here, you'll see all notes associated with this client, and the option to pin. Click the pin icon, and you'll now see these notes at the top of your notes section.

<Tip>
  To unpin, simply click on the unpin icon in the clients' note page.
