Bloom gives you a private subscription link for your diary. Add it to the calendar app you already use and your sessions and blocked time appear alongside everything else, kept up to date automatically.

How the sync works

The sync is one way. Bloom sends your diary to your calendar app, and your calendar app updates when Bloom changes.
Changes you make in your calendar app do not reach Bloom. To move, add or cancel a session, always use Bloom. Anything you edit in the other app is ignored and overwritten on the next refresh.
Your calendar shows your appointments (except cancelled ones) and your blocked time. It never includes fees, payment status, notes, client contact details or anything a client could use to join a session.
1

Open your settings

Go to Settings, then Calendar, then Calendar sync.
2

Copy your link

Under Subscribe from your calendar app, select Copy link.
Keep this link private. Anyone with it can see your diary. If you ever share it by mistake, use Rotate link to replace it (see Rotate your link below).

Subscribe from your calendar app

Apple Calendar (Mac and iPhone)

1

Start a new subscription

On a Mac, open Calendar, then choose File, then New Calendar Subscription. On an iPhone, open Settings, then Calendar, then Accounts, then Add account, then Other, then Add subscribed calendar.
2

Paste your link

Paste your Bloom link and confirm.
3

Choose how often it refreshes

Pick a refresh frequency, then save.
On a Mac you can also select Open in Apple Calendar in Bloom to start the subscription without copying the link.

Outlook

1

Open your calendar

In Outlook on the web, go to Calendar.
2

Add a calendar from the web

Select Add calendar, then Subscribe from web.
3

Paste your link

Paste your Bloom link, give it a name, then import.

Google Calendar

1

Open Google Calendar

Open Google Calendar on a computer.
2

Add a calendar from a URL

Next to Other calendars, select the plus, then From URL.
3

Paste your link

Paste your Bloom link, then add the calendar.
Google refreshes subscribed links slowly, often only once a day. Your other calendars will not be as far behind.

Choose how clients appear

You decide how clients are named in your calendar titles. This applies wherever your diary is synced. Under How clients appear in your calendar, choose one:
  • Initials (the default). A session reads Session with J.S.
  • Full name. A session reads Session with Jane Smith.
  • No client details. A session reads Session.
Your calendar app may show up on a shared screen or a lock screen. Initials keep client names out of it.
Your choice saves as soon as you select it. The next time your calendar app refreshes, the titles change to match. If your link is ever shared or you want a fresh one, select Rotate link, then confirm. Your old link stops working straight away.
Your calendar apps will stop updating until you subscribe again with the new link. Copy the new link and repeat the steps above for each app.
